18 month daughter has multiple food allergies. Help me decide what to do next?

All,
My 18 month daughter is allergic to
Milk
Wheat
Rice
Soy
Egg
Oranges
Peanuts
dust mites

Her only reaction is eczema. With moderate application of steroidal creams , it is very much control.
Doctor says both blood and skin tests match more ore less the same and advised us to avoid all these foods. Her blood test counts are between 4 to 6.

We are vegetarians and finding very difficult to find variety. We are giving her corn, oat meal, flax and quinoa etc… but she got bored of these things in a month.

I am beginning doubt the accuracy of these tests. Even after avoiding these foods, there is not much change. Doctor says if we continue to give the foods, she may develop hay fever and asthma.

What are my options? Restricting her diet is becoming very difficult. Need help if you know any recipes/places to get the food free of all the above things (I checked few online stores and trader joes – got some snacks, cereals but not much.
Thanks for all the answers!!! They are really helpful. I have some update – we went to another doctor and had another round of blood test. Now she is allergic to oats also. But the milk and rice counts are very low. All other IgE counts are more or less same.
Only got blood test results and we’ll be going to the doctor for follow up appointment.
At least oats explain why she still has eczema. Her daily breakfast is oatmeal!

Kim answers:

As a loving and caring father, there is only one option. Avoidance of all allergens. Although your daughter’s only symptoms are eczema, which are under control with the use of steroid cream, ongoing exposure to allergens will cause a weakening of the immune system. This will most likely lead to more allergies and more symptoms. She may already have other symptoms which you may not be aware of such as tiredness, irritability, digestive problems.

As far as the tests, if both skin and blood tests are giving relative the same results than your daughter has these allergies. If there was a discrepancy in the tests then I would recommend getting retested.

Speaking from personal experience, my father’s refusal to acknowledge and treat my allergies as an infant has resulted in my allergies (and asthma) creating a severe disability for me as an adult. I am now allergic to pollens, foods, animals, chemicals, etc. Not only do I need to restrict my diet but I am restricted in what type of housing I can live in, what I can use as products, activities, etc.

It is always overwhelming at the beginning but with time and patience you will see improvement in your daughter as well as things will not be so difficult.

Solutions:

Dust mites – buy allergen tight cover for the mattress/box spring and pillows. Make sure the bedding is hypo-allergenic and launder them frequently including blankets/duvets. Remove the carpeting in the house or at the very least in the bedroom. Replace the drapery with metal/wood blinds or drapes that can be laundered. Buy a HEPA air cleaner.

Milk – oat milk (coconut milk or almond milk can be used as a substitute in desert recipes. Make ices or sorbet instead of ice cream. There is almond cheese.

Wheat/Rice – potato, corn, oat, kamut, spelt, amaranth, quinoa, barley, chickpea, buckwheat, millet, rye, arrowroot, tapioca, xanthan gum

Soy – nuts and legumes, spices and seasonings instead of soy sauce

Egg – use egg replacer

Oranges – apples, peaches, pears, kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, etc, etc

Peanuts – other nuts and legumes

Believe it or not the diet restrictions could be worse. ( I am allergic to everything on your list except eggs and rice. However, many of the alternatives I listed for you I can not eat.) Rotate the foods so that she does not get a lot of anything at any given time. This will decrease the boredom but will also prevent over exposure which can contribute to a new allergy occurring. Bulk cook and freeze for ease.

If you are looking to buy some cookbooks here is a site that has some at a reduced price. Http://www.usedcalgary.com/classified-ad/4052383&category=books-textbooks
A referral to a dietician may also be helpful if you have health coverage for it.

Is this the correct asthma treatment for severe asthma?

I was diagnosed with severe asthma. I have had asthma my entire life, but it has gotten much worse the last few years. I have recently been diagnosed with a lot of allergies this year, some even food, which I know to avoid. I just want to know if anyone else out there is on this same treatment or similar for my type of asthma.
I take Advair 500/50 2 times a day
Singular 1 time a day
Allegra D 2 times a day
Spiriva 1 time a day
Fluticasone inhaled 2x daily
Albuetrol as needed
Considering Theophylline or Aminophylline if symptoms do not improve.
Thanks for you help.
The Fluticasone propionate is an inhaled nasal spray. So, I take the advair inhaled in mouth, other through nose. Sorry about not specifiying. I took Allegra, but it does nothing for me. The Allergra-D does help much more. I have also tried Clariton and Zyrtec. They do nothing for me. Zyrtec actually makes me really sick. I felt like this was a lot of medicine, but I have checked to make sure ingredients in steriod mouth inhalers do not overlap, which they do not.

Chest pain and nausea from physical exertion?

Why do I get chest pains and nausea from physical exertion?

I have had this problem since I was little, but it has progressively gotten worse the older I have gotten.

I was always an active person, when I was little, I would go biking for a great majority of my days. In middle school, I started to skate board, which also took precedence in most of my days. On the side, I would do sports (soccer and running). In high school, I joined the Cross Country team and started to break dance.

The only problem is that, I noticed my stamina has been suffering the more older I have gotten. I get nauseous and have a blunt pain in my chest when I exercise long enough. Before, in middle school, I was able to do 5K’s easily. In high school, junior year, I was only able to do about two miles before I gave in. Often, I’d want to lie on the ground, but you can’t do that after exercising.. It just makes me dizzier, but it makes the pain subside faster. By senior year, I was only able to run about half a mile or just about a mile, before that was it. My physical fitness teacher even suggested I use steroids for my heart (which I declined). Now, I can only jog for about 5 minutes, before I feel unwell.

I have seen 3 different doctors about this problem, and all of them said that they couldn’t find anything. The second one suggested it could just be a psychological problem, and the last one said I just get tired.

At first, the doctors checked if my heart was over sized, if I had asthma, or any other respiratory problems, yet none seemed to be the case. (asthma is common in my family)

I eat well balanced meals most of my days (When I don’t, I take vitamin supplements), I avoid processed food and additives. I exercise at the least 3 days a week, for 2 hours each day, at most about 5 days a week, to up to 3 hours each day. And, I avoid doing a lot of cardio exercises because of how it makes me feel unwell. Thus, I mostly do strength and core exercises.

My question again: Why do I get chest pains and nausea from physical exertion? What can I do to help with my chest pain? Why does it occur?
I have had a methacholine test done, and it didn’t give any results to having asthma.
Actually, maybe I’ll ask a doctor to get the test again, just in case.

Why doesn’t the media tell us more about genetically modified food?

I have seen little in the media other than what supports the profit agenda of the biotech corporations. Is that changing?

See for interest this recent article from Huffington post. Is its presence a sign that perhaps the mainstream media is starting to “notice” the science that contradicts the science of the biotech corporations?

Will we see more coverage of these issues in the media?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jeffrey-smith/will-obamas-food-safety-t_b_178127.html

Quote for those who don’t follow links:

“Will Obama’s Food Safety Team Finally Regulate the Biggest Food Safety Hazard of Our Time?

If President Obama’s new Food Safety Working Group dedicates all their time and credentials to prevent future food recalls, they will have saved thousands of people–but forsaken millions.

Over the last decade, our radically changing diet has ushered in the explosive growth of food-related ailments, such as allergies, asthma, obesity, diabetes, autism, infertility, gastro-intestinal disorders, and learning disabilities. Of all the changes in our food, the most dangerous transformation was the introduction of genetically modified (GM) crops.

When these gene-spliced concoctions, such as GM soy, corn, canola, and cottonseed, came on the scene in 1996, the proportion of Americans suffering from three or more chronic ailments. After just 9 years, that nearly doubled to 13%. GM foods are the prime suspect.

Government policy at odds with science

Until now, the government has sidestepped the controversy by hiding behind FDA policy, which asserts that genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are “substantially equivalent” to natural foods and therefore don’t require any safety studies. But as Obama acknowledged, “many of the laws and regulations governing food safety in America” are outdated.

In truth, the FDA’s GMO policy was not even up-to-date when it was implemented in May 1992. FDA documents made public from a lawsuit revealed that virtually all the agency scientists asked to comment voiced strong warnings that GMOs may cause serious health problems. But the FDA was under orders from the White House to fast track GM foods, and the person in charge of FDA policy was the former attorney of biotech giant Monsanto–and later become their vice president. The scientists and the science were ignored.

Now that animals fed GMOs–in labs and farms around the world–have exhibited symptoms related to the growing list of diseases in the US population, the President’s Food Safety team, including Dr. Margaret Hamburg as FDA Commissioner, must update GMO regulation. A scientifically sound regulation would translate into an immediate ban of current GM crops, and the implementation of rigorous safety testing requirements before any GMO was put back into the food supply. And certainly mandatory labeling, as promised by President Obama during his campaign, must accompany any GM food approval.

Presidents and industry insiders avoid GMOs

The Obama family has wisely opted out of exposing themselves to GM foods by requiring organic–and therefore non-GMO–foods served at the White House. They are even planting an organic garden on the south lawn of the White House, to feature 55 types of vegetables.

The Bush family also had an organic kitchen policy. Laura Bush was “adamant” about it, but kept it all quiet.

Even at Monsanto, many in-the-know employees won’t consume the company’s own GM creations. Back in 1999, the management of the cafeteria at Monsanto’s UK headquarters in High Wycombe, England wrote:

“In response to concern raised by our customers . . . we have decided to remove, as far as possible, genetically modified soy and maize (corn) from all food products served in our restaurant. . . . We have taken the above steps to ensure that you, the customer, can feel confident in the food we serve.”

And one former Monsanto scientist told me that his colleagues, who were safety testing milk from cows injected with the company’s genetically engineered bovine growth hormone, decided to stop drinking milk–unless it was organic.

It’s now time to let us all opt out of this dangerous and failed GM experiment. If Obama’s team is serious about food safety and public health, they must take GMOs off our plates and put them back into the laboratory.

(end of quote)

“The Media” is owned by the same massive corporations who are responsible for the altered food as well as most of the war efforts and almost everything BAD with this entire world. PLUS, if something is mentioned in the media or touted by same you can pretty much be sure that it is bad for you … No matter what it is.

They are getting very sloppy though. There is no longer enough time for them to intro these slow brainwashing schemes so now they have to just play on the mass stupidity of the average public. At least now they ANNOUNCE what they are about to do … Just before they do it … Like when the anthrax thing was in all the papers and then all of a sudden the anthrax mysteriously appeared. Gee … Anyone figure that one out?

Cat with asthma…any tips?

My five year old cat was diagnosed with asthma about a year ago. She has a typical daily inhaler (actually the exact same as my grandmothers inhaler) and she has prednisone for when she gets really bad. She consistantly has an attack about once a month and sometimes the inhaler takes care of it, sometimes (although I try to avoid it) she has to go on a round of prednisone. Im wondering if anyone out there has a cat with asthma and if you have any tips. I have heard that feeding fish oil can help decrease inflammation and Im open to holistic options. Food wise she will be staying on the Hills cd that she is on (I know, Im not a vet food fan either and my dog is currently on Orjen as were the cats but they both have chronic UTI’s and I would have had to put both down had the Hills cd not worked wonders for them). I try to keep anything that may trigger the asthma to a minimum (candles, air freshener etc), looking more for things that might help control it better.

Thanks!
Thanks…I just joined!
We did check for heart worms. When I first took her in the vet didnt even recognize the coughing as asthma so we tested/checked for everything under the sun for three days. It wasnt until we attempted an IV (she wasnt eating or drinking) that she had the massive attack and stopped breathing so after three days (and a pile of money) thats how we figured it out.
Thanks for the link…I know quite a bit about the different foods and had them on high quality, grain free, high protein food but the UTI’s were getting so bad that I was ready to make the decision to have to put them down (my house was becoming a cleaning nightmare) as I didnt know what else to do. The Hills cleared it up so quickly and they are so much more active and happy now that Im afraid to change it again…Sadly Im also afraid one day I will come home and the cat will have had a massive asthma attack again and wont be ok this time. Suppose its a reality but one Id like to try and prevent!
re: The c/d…ill take a look at that stuff, thanks. Currently they are on the wet version as it has a 90% success rate as opposed to the dry which only has a 50%-60% success rate and its pretty runny. Im looking into some wet foods that are similar to the Orjen that they had been on but Ill do some more research.
this question is more for a tenant lawyer, but i guess anyone with legal experience can answer. i live in new york city, in the state of brooklyn. im a 43 yr old unemployed male with asthma, allergies and clinical depression. ive lived in this 3 family apartment building located in the bushwick section for 35 years with my parents who are both deceased. the landlord has only owned this house for 3 years. my mother passed away march 8th 2009. we had a lease until June of 2009. after that i had an oral agreement with my landlord that i could stay for a short time for $1000 a month rent. i’m guessing the apartment is three bedrooms. kitchen living room, large bedroom and two smaller rooms. in October of 2009 my landlord knocked on my door and asked for $1500 rent. i said i only had $1200 so he accepted. i am the only tenant in the building the top and ground floors and basement are all of the landlords family. i am afraid he will knock on my door and demand $1500 rent and when i say $1200 is all i have he might decide to evict me. i more than qualify for food stamps, welfare and SSD, but i collected my mothers life insurance policy of 25k and because i collected it it disqualifies me for any kind of assistance.according to my doctor my name would have to be clear of assets for two years before im eligible,i even lost my medicade because i collected my mothers life insurance policy. i dont know what my rights are?can he just evict me? does he take me to housing court? my doctor says it takes almost a year in new york city to evict someone from their apartment. im so afraid because i have no place to go,cant even stay in a homeless shelter.i don’t have a job or any source of income except for the little bit i have left of my mothers life insurance policy. i just don’t know what to do? or how to fight eviction? if i’m taken to court and my doctor and psychiatrist testify i have clinical depression, could that stop eviction?
please anyone i need help, before im sleeping on a park bench with all my clothee in a trash bag

File in landlord tenant court immediately. Bring documentation from your Physician, and evidence of how long you’ve resided there. You have enough to prove mitigating circumstances. That should buy you some time.

Go the natural way to start with.

There are a number of highly effective herbal and homeopathic remedies that may be used for the successful treatment of asthma and other respiratory conditions. Depending on the severity of the asthma, natural remedies can either reduce or completely eliminate the need for the synthetic drugs and are often used in conjunction with conventional medications as a part of a holistic treatment plan.

Herbal ingredients such as Matricaria recutita and Astralagus are known for their antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties, while homeopathic ingredients such as Mag. Phos. And Nat. Sulph are successful at easing chest and throat constriction and soothing mucous membranes while reducing the presence of phlegm in the chest. Used regularly, natural remedies can help improve respiratory health, reduce the incidence and severity of asthma attacks while strengthening the immune system.

A ‘few’ questions on asthma.(probably for asmathics) In-depth answers will be appreciated, please!?

Alright:
1.How bad is it to live with asthma?Does it terribly affect you?
2.How did you get asthma in the first place?
3.How bad are the chances of dying of this disease?
4.Is there any true cure for asthma?
5.How do you feel when you get these asthma ‘attacks‘? Upto what extent do these feelings affect your capacity to deal with the situation? How do these feelings worsen if you don’t have an inhaler at hand?
6.If you’re a girl, do you feel your hormonal changes and periods affecting the status of your asthma?Or does it have a passive role?
7.What sort of extra precautions are you forced to take?
8.Are attacks triggered spontaneously?
9.Are you aware to a good extent of asthma in general?
Well, to whoever answers, thank you sooooooo much for taking the trouble to do so. I’m not asmathic, just terribly, horribly curious.
Why thank you all so much!!! What an excellent reaction and great answers, thanks… but one aspect’s still bugging me:how do you feel when asthma works up? You feel a lump in your throat, you feel your breath getting crushed or what? How do you just feel your asthma‘s getting real bad?

Kim answers:

1. Asthma is always on my mind. When I’m doing anything that involves activity, I always consider what it might do to my asthma. It isn’t as bad as it used to be because I’m well medicated now and use my rescue inhaler aggressively when there is any remote sign of trouble. I must always keep in mind that I have asthma and that it’s a really pointless way to die.

2. Air pollution exposure for five years because I lived in an area with very heavy transport truck traffic. It can happen to anyone.

3. About 300 people die from asthma in Canada every year. Considering that there are approximately 3 million Canadians with asthma, the odds of asthma being your cause of death are pretty small. An entirely different issue is how severe and uncontrollable asthma that does not kill you can basically make you disabled. It has lots of morbidity (misary) and low mortality (death).

4. No cure for asthma has been found yet. Some scientists are working on an asthma vaccine, but nothing has come of it yet. Also, burning the muscles of the airways with laser energy is a new procedure that can reduce the severity of asthma in patients who are severe. It won’t cure, but rather make their asthma manageable.

5. I get an uncontrollable cough, wheeze, severe shortness of breath, chest pains (severe), increased muscle demand to breathe, and generally feel as though I’m about to die. My “attacks” are terrifying. I can deal with what is happening because I am a Respiratory Therapist and I am trained to keep my head on in emergency situations, including those involving myself.

If I don’t have my inhaler with me, I will die. My inhaler is within arms reach 24/7, with a spare at home in case something happens to the one I’m presently using. My inhaler is on my body all the time whenever I leave my home. It would be suicidal to leave it where I am not.

I had an asthma attack while climbing stairs about a year ago. I thought I was going to die at several points in my adventure. However, I pulled through by some gigantic miracle and know never to be in that situation again (my doctor had not prescribed me a rescue inhaler at that point).

6. I am male. I know from my training that hormone changes in women due to menstruation and pregnancy can make their asthma worse.

7. I carry my rescue inhaler 24/7 and use it liberally at the first sign of trouble. I know that my Salbutamol/Albuterol inhaler is pretty safe. Too much makes my heart rate go up into the 140′s and I shake a bit for a few hours. Using too little and not giving it often enough could result in death. Because I treat asthma for a living, I know that I can do everything except give myself steroid pills. This is an important point. I can treat myself at home as I would be in the ER for everything except that they give lots of steroid pills and IVs too. Often, I can tell by what’s happening how bad my asthma attack is going to be and give myself 2 or 3 treatments in a row to stop it before it starts. Salbutamol is cheap and pretty safe. Using too much is far better than not using enough and finding myself behind the 8 ball needing to go to the ER.

8. My attacks are caused by: air pollution, smog, hot and humid weather, stress, heavy exercise, diesel exhaust, and people who wear too much perfume. They can happen at any time and to any degree.

9. I’m a Respiratory Therapist. I know more about asthma than everyone except Pulmonologists and other RTs who are Certified Asthma Educators.

Asthma is a very dangerous disease to have. It could kill you at any time, make you miserable, or leave you alone. Who knows? It’s a variable disease state, which is what makes every day a new adventure.

Asthma is like living with a sniper ready to shoot you at any time. Does the sniper leave you alone today? Just shoots you in the leg? Or maybe the sniper will go for a head shot and finish you off? Who knows.

Please use this information to understand what we go through, not to make fun of us. I can run faster and for longer than a lot of the nurses in my hospital. They are skinny and look pretty healthy. I am a bit overweight, with asthma and anemia.

I try my best to take care of myself so that asthma is not a problem in my daily life. It doesn’t stop my from walking and running at work for 12 hours at a time, going up and down stairs many times a shift, riding my bicycle, going for long brisk walks, or anything else. I keep my inhaler on me at all times and sometimes have to stop and use it. No problems. What is important is that I live with a potential killer in my lungs and asthma is a stupid way to die. It shouldn’t prevent me from having a wife and raising children. I will probably live to be a very old, crotchity man.

How to cure hyperglycemia? or what is this? What can I do to get better?

symptoms:
1.heart rate increases a lot
2.I then become dizzy, nauseated, extremely hot to extremely cold, body tremors, (in worse case scenerios I black out, faint, or collapse with blurred vision, can’t calm down, higher heart rate, and even can no longer feel my feet and/or hands as if they have pins and needles in them)
3.It’s hard to breathe (as if I am having an anxiety or asthma attack)
4.Most of the time, it’s minor but still prevents me from working or finishing out the day regularly, the full on blow or attacks have only happened less than 10 times. But the feeling of one that may be sneaking up is almost too much to bear, it makes me scared that the next attack is coming, thus increasing the chances of it actually happening. These minor pre-attack symptoms happen almost everyday.
Here is when it happens:
1.when I am physically exhausted and/or haven’t had any or enough food
2.when I eat sugar
3.when I walk a lot before eating, then sit down
4 when i am finished digesting
here are other times it happens:
5.in restaurants sitting and waiting and smelling other peoples foods, before eating food, or right at the first bite
6.in new situations, first day on the job type of thing, uncomfortable situations, high anxiety situations, when I’m nervous, surrounded by a lot of people (elevators, restaurants, crowds, working on a movie set) or if I feel that I am somewhere I don’t want to be in
7.in the classroom or when I start to think about having an attack, I start to get anxiety and scared, and it’s possible that I can talk myself into having an attack.
8.I have to wake up and rush out the door first thing in the morning, (even with little snacks and trying to eat protein), it’s more likely to happen first thing when I leave the house in the morning.
9.sometimes it happens if I’m around a lot of cigarette smoke in a crowded area

I would’ve probably took a benadryl since my chin gets itchy before i get asthma. Once I caught asthma and I didn’t have anything to treat it, I found relief from some type of heater.. The weather conditions were becoming cold and dry season, plus I had been around cats so my allergies were acting up.. By accident I discovered relief while standing in this McDonald’s, I found a room that had this space heater in it and it’s possible that maybe the air from that room was moist and steamy.. I cannot remember.
Steam or humidity may help some asthma suffers while it might trigger an attack in others..
This kind of Asthma occurs as an allergic reaction which swells tissues.. Something to do with histamine..

You can’t really do much yourself, other than be supportive when he’s in the midst of it. Claustrophobia is considered to be an anxiety disorder. It is usually treated with relaxation techniques, cognitive therapy by targeting fears and perceived triggers, and sometimes hypnosis. He really needs to talk to a therapist. In severe cases, medications such as anti-anxiety meds and even beta-blockers are prescribed. It sounds like he has a genuine problem with this that interferes with his life enough to seek professional help.

Kim answers:

Sounds like you need to go for a Sleep Lab. The racing heart may, in fact, be your body’s attempt to get oxygen because you stop breathing in your sleep. This is called Sleep Apnea. If this goes on long enough, you can experience heart attack-like symptoms that will be very painful, but when tested, will not register on the equipment as typical. This can be expensive and very frustrating. The stress will eventually kill you.

Sleep Apnea can be caused by poorly developed throat muscles which collapse when you’re lying on your back. Asthma and other pulmonary conditons can also be a factor.

In younger people, the cause of Sleep Apnea is often neurological. There’s a slight “mis-wiring” of the brain circuits.

There are good answers to this problem. The first step is to get a referral from your family physician to a sleep lab for an overnight sleep study.

My sleep study showed that I stopped breathing about every two minutes!

If the expense would stop you from undergoing a sleep study, you could try borrowing a book from the library called “No More Sleepless Nights” and reading that first. If the suggestions don’t work, then you likely have a physical problem that is going to require a physical solution.

Help me!! My girlfriend might be dying!!!?

I got the most disturbing news today! She told me about 2 hrs ago that she might be dying, according to what “a guy” said. She texted me, so she couldn’t give me the details. And its not even her cellphone cuz she doesnt have one. Its a good friend of hers that knows our whole situation of how we cant see each other and lets her use her cell phone so we can communicate SOMEHOW. We can’t see each other because her parents don’t let her date and no one DARES to call her house not even her girl friends, so we keep our relationship on the DL. At first I told her I didn’t believe it unless a DOCTOR said that, but she said that this guy described EVERY symptom she had. He even said “do you have this” and “does your body do that” and she said yes to everything.

I know she hasn’t been healthy lately. She can’t eat because she then throws up. She has asthma and sometimes has an asthma attack when she gets shocked or overwhelmed. She gets very cold, even when its 80 degrees outside (she ALWAYS wears a jacket or even two). I got used to all this but when I heard about this guy telling her that, I just freaked out.

I can’t take her to the doctor because her parents will kick my *** and kick her out of the house. They are just too damn strict! And they don’t give two sh*ts if she’s dying or not! A nurse told her that birth-control pills will cure her a little because she gets abnormal periods (I don’t know why, my GF just told me this) but her mom doesn’t want her to “abuse” those pills and be having sex.

The only thing I can do right now is wait until she turns 18 or until she moves out so the first thing I do is take her to the doctor and get her those pills! And anything else she needs. But Im afraid it might be too late!

OMG im so scared, I don’t want to lose her this way. We are in a kinda long-distance relationship. We live REALLY close together but her parents won’t let her go out, not even with her girl friends. We go to different schools now, so we can’t see each other much. We both kinda have to ditch school once in a while to see each other. But often times we can’t do that because it cause inconceviences. But even so, we love each other as much as we did when we started going out.

What can I do now?!?! I’m so scared, we had plans to get married and have kids (someday). I saw my future with her by my side, but now it’s all gone. We have been through ALOT, since people tried to separate us and that it wouldnt “work out” and we have jumped through alot of obstacles but no one escapes death!
Trust me, she does NOT want to break up. I am willing to bet my life on it

Oh my god…..she is very, very ill. You MUST get her to a hospital, no matter what her parents do! She is in DESPERATE need of medical attention!
I am not sure how you will be able to do this….maybe you could file a child abuse report on her parents? I’m not sure how fast they can get to abused children or how they authenticate calls, but that might work in getting her help. Check for an abuse hotline in her or your area.
What about your parents? Could they help? If you are in school, is there a trusted teacher or professor who could assist you?
Poor girl…you MUST keep trying, no matter what happens or what you have to sacrifice!
I wish you the very, very best of luck.

Im looking into some wet foods that are similar to the Orjen that they had been on but Ill do some more research.
how can you avoid being evicted in new york city?

this question is more for a tenant lawyer, but i guess anyone with legal experience can answer. i live in new york city, in the state of brooklyn. im a 43 yr old unemployed male with asthma, allergies and clinical depression. ive lived in this 3 family apartment building located in the bushwick section for 35 years with my parents who are both deceased. the landlord has only owned this house for 3 years. my mother passed away march 8th 2009. we had a lease until June of 2009. after that i had an oral agreement with my landlord that i could stay for a short time for $1000 a month rent. i’m guessing the apartment is three bedrooms. kitchen living room, large bedroom and two smaller rooms. in October of 2009 my landlord knocked on my door and asked for $1500 rent. i said i only had $1200 so he accepted. i am the only tenant in the building the top and ground floors and basement are all of the landlords family. i am afraid he will knock on my door and demand $1500 rent and when i say $1200 is all i have he might decide to evict me. i more than qualify for food stamps, welfare and SSD, but i collected my mothers life insurance policy of 25k and because i collected it it disqualifies me for any kind of assistance.according to my doctor my name would have to be clear of assets for two years before im eligible,i even lost my medicade because i collected my mothers life insurance policy. i dont know what my rights are?can he just evict me? does he take me to housing court? my doctor says it takes almost a year in new york city to evict someone from their apartment. im so afraid because i have no place to go,cant even stay in a homeless shelter.i don’t have a job or any source of income except for the little bit i have left of my mothers life insurance policy. i just don’t know what to do? or how to fight eviction? if i’m taken to court and my doctor and psychiatrist testify i have clinical depression, could that stop eviction?

Avoid antibiotics first. Why? First it can be taxing to your kidneys, as antibiotics are well known for that. Second taking antibiotics promote microbe resistance to that drug.

Forget the vinegar if it make you worse

Kim answers:

Apple cider vinegar provides acid for your stomach. An apple does not — as you’ve realized. So, if you have acid reflux and vinegar helps, then your reflux is actually caused by not enough acid! That’s why the prescription drugs don’t help.

This topic is actually covered in many books, but one that’s easy to get right now is Kevin Trudeau’s book called “Natural Cures They Don’t Want You To Know About”. (I have no affiliation with this book; I simply found much of what he had to say was useful.)

Will this brand of apple cider vinegar work for these problems?

Ok. I have eczema, candida, constipation, overweight, scaring, asthma. I just bought apple cider vinegar. I was wondering if putting this in my bath would help my candida and eczema and if drinking it before every meal every day would help with all of my problems. Would doing these things make any of my problems worse? Have you had any success with cider vinegar and any of these problems?
We get many questions about ACV on here.

First of all: If you are not aware of it, there are many sites on the internet that set up ‘hoax’ pages, with what appears to be interesting content but actually just exists to advertise other products (usually fake health-marketed products).

ACV and any health properties are a myth. Apart from being mildly anti-bacterial (like soap), it has no other benefits at all, especially when you consider it’s just a weak acid and you have a huge sack of acid a few thousand times stronger inside you! (your stomach).

Sprinkle it on your chips or salad for taste, but it won’t have any effect on any condition you may have.

I use apple cider vinegar on a daily basis. Usually I make a cup of tea but I sometimes use a large glass of water and put a teaspoon of vinegar in it. It resolves any plaque that might build up in my circulatory system. This is better than any treatment that is dependent on an ongoing partaking of chemical medications (modern medicine). Also, garlic has already established itself as a natural antibiotic and it offers soothing help for many established deep-rooted ailments. Remember this, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? – Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. – Psalm 68:19. Peace and God Bless.

Kim answers:

I have severe asthma and while I’m mostly on meds all year, something my doctors always recommended when it wasn’t so bad was steam breathing. If you’re at home go into your bathroom, closing the doors, leaving off the fan and closing any windows you might have. Put your shower on to the hottest temperature so your bathroom becomes a nice little steam filled sauna and just sit there for about 20 minutes doing lots of DEEP breathing. If you’re not at home, get a cup of steaming hot water hover your mouth and nose and do the same deep breathing. It helps a lot if you dont want or really need meds. All the same your symptoms do sound like you need some sort of medication, even if you only use it seasonally. But I hope this helps you some!

Don’t mess with asthma! Trying a bunch of natural nonsense drugs may get him into a life and death situation. Look at your house, see what is causing his problems, smoking, paint fumes, animal dander, dust etc. Eliminate it from your environment and pray for him to outgrow it. A number of kids do. As for the weight, you caused it by overfeeding him, you have to take steps to help him eat healthy foods. Keep him away from jusk food, no soda, no cookies , no crackers….teach him to eat good food and he will lost the weight.

Kim answers:

Goals of Managing Asthma

Even though there’s no natural cure for asthma, your symptoms can be treated and controlled with several asthma medications. Your goal in managing asthma is to:

    * Get an accurate asthma diagnosis.
* Work with your doctor to develop an asthma action plan.
* Monitor your peak flow rate daily and take appropriate measures when it drops.
* Keep an asthma diary so you can track all your symptoms and medication use.
* Avoid asthma triggers or causes of asthma, including outdoor irritants such as smog.
* Seek medical advice and treatment for coexisting problems that can worsen asthma symptoms, such as GERD, allergic rhinitis, and sinusitis.
* Exercise daily to maximize your aerobic fitness.
* Prevent exercise-induced asthma by premedicating.
* Eat nutritious foods to maximize your immune defenses against viral and bacterial infections.
* Maintain a normal weight.
* Get plenty of restful sleep.
* Call your doctor at the first sign of asthma symptoms.
* Check in with your doctor regularly for breathing tests to make sure your asthma is managed and your medications are working optimally.

You hold the key to living well with asthma. Trust your doctor to give you guidance, and then take daily responsibility for your breathing with proven self-care measures.

The brand is Spectrum and it is Organic, unpasturized and unfiltered.

* Maintain a normal weight.

The brand is Spectrum and it is Organic, unpasturized and unfiltered.

I was just on parenting.com and thought I’d share some information that I saw.?

When you‘re pregnant, all the “Congrats!” come hand in hand with a stream of cautionary tales and bizarre factoids. What’s true and what’s not:
True or false? If you‘re stressed out during pregnancy, it’ll hurt your baby.

False. There’s no medical connection between everyday worries — too many tasks to juggle, say, or a disagreement with your mate — and giving birth to an unhealthy baby. One study even suggests that cortisol, a hormone released when you‘re stressed, may actually help your child’s brain development. So relax: It’s normal to have some anxiety during pregnancy, and you don’t have to feel guilty about it.

True or false? If you have heartburn, your newborn will have a full head of hair.

True. Researchers at Johns Hopkins University set out to disprove this but were surprised by evidence supporting it. They found that 82 percent of women with moderate to severe heartburn delivered hairy babies; most women with little or no heartburn ended up with baldies. Makes sense, since the hormones responsible for heartburn also trigger fetal hair growth.

True or false? Having sex late in pregnancy can trigger labor.

True. Women who have sex after 36 weeks are more likely to deliver within two to five days than those who don’t, found the largest study to date. Doctors think prostaglandin, a substance in semen, combined with female hormones released during sex can jumpstart contractions. While not all experts agree there’s a link, one thing is certain: If you‘re near your due date, it can‘t hurt to try.

True or false? If you eat peanuts when you‘re expecting, your child will become allergic to them.

False — usually. The PB&J you‘re craving probably won’t cause any harm. In fact, the protein and folates in peanuts are especially important during pregnancy. The caveat: If you or the father have any kind of allergy, or even asthma, exposing your baby-to-be to peanuts may up her risk of developing an allergy to them, so do skip ‘em — for now.
